Unheard Voices

The dry, hot air clamp down on life

Dominated by the sun and sand,

Chasing away tired thoughts, lies fade,

Advertising empathy but obscured by numbness,

Static lives in motion walk the land,

Unobtrusive steps left behind, under the surface,

A voice enclosed in a sheath, a phantom yataghan,

Delusions of freedom? A holstered heart struggles to bleed

Sounds of the soul stolen by fear, consumed by the darken cloud above,

Necessity of expression was overtaken by the need to survive,

Unity deflated, tears evaporated feeding the darkness above.

Unnerved, demoralizing soul suppressed by one.

Another voice goes unheard.
